The flagship event for An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha, The Irish Dancing Commission, Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne, returns to Belfast and the Waterfront Hall, 10 - 17 April 2022.
After two years of cancellations and disappointments, this historic event will celebrate the irrepressible spirit of Irish dancers and Ireland’s resurgent culture of music and dance. This is paramount to the ‘Olympics’ of Irish dance, a prestigious event where elite dancers from every corner of the globe will convene in Belfast and battle it out to become “Champions of the World”.
On display will be some of the world’s most talented Irish dancers.
The traditional aspects of Irish step dance will fuse with increasing athleticism, innovation in choreography and rhythm to bring you a modern and truly inspiring evolution of our cultural dance form.
The entire city will warmly welcome teachers, competitors and their supporters for a week-long programme of activities including art exhibitions and competitions as well as Irish language events.
All of the excitement, talent and atmosphere of the World Irish Dancing Championships will be broadcast live across the globe so it can be experienced as it happens, from anywhere on feistv.com.
