After a sell out show at the Ulster Hall in December 2018, 26-year old Ryan McMullan is getting ready to play his biggest Belfast gig yet, headlining at Custom House Square.
Just off the back of supporting local, home-grown talent Snow Patrol on their US tour this April, Portaferry rising star and singer-songwriter Ryan McMullan prepares to play his biggest Belfast headline show at Custom House Square, and he is bringing none other than the genius Irish folk band, Grammy-nominees Beoga.
Ryan’s schedule has been non-stop in the past three years and isn’t about to slow down any time soon. From playing small gigs across Ireland to singing to thousands as a supporting act for global stars such as Ed Sheeran in European arenas, he’s been on a whirlwind adventure. Ryan has also acted as a support act for local, home-grown talent including Ciaran Lavery and Foy Vance. During his Ulster Hall gig in December 2018 Foy joined Ryan on stage much to the delight of the fans in attendance. Foy returns to Belfast this November, with two scheduled gigs at the Waterfront Hall.
Ryan is definitely no stranger to the Belfast music scene, with sell-out shows in venues across the city including The Limelight, Mandela Hall as well as most recently selling out The Ulster Hall in December 2018. Both the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall are iconic venues in their own right, and truly are #WhereLegendsAreMade. Both venues celebrate upcoming artists both locally and afar, as well as acted as a staple pillar in their careers.
As a venue, the Ulster Hall has experienced an array of #IWasThereWhen moments with Ryan. From filming a live session music video for his song titled ‘Belfast City’ in the Ulster Hall to then selling out the Ulster Hall in December 2018, it’s been filled with exciting experiences.
"I think I was the first person ever to sell out The Ulster Hall without an album – I'm pretty chuffed with that one, but it was never intentional.”
With plans to release his debut album, playing a set at Glastonbury 2019 and with an upcoming headline gig in Belfast, Ryan McMullan is cementing himself as the cream of the crop for local talent. We’re excited to continue following his success and create more #IWasThereWhen moments with him.
