From the unmistakable anthems of The Cranberries and Simple Minds to the irrepressible humour of Stewart Lee and Russell Kane and from the Magic of Motown to the spellbinding flute of Sir James Galway… our new season will light up spring and summer nights with the finest live entertainment Belfast has to offer!
Cool FM Comedy Club is cooler than ever with an unrivalled line-up of the latest and greatest stand up stars! After four years writing and performing his own TV show, Stewart Lee (28 September) unveils his first brand new full length show since bringing his award-winning Carpet Remnant World to Belfast, while Russell Kane (9 and 10 May) unleashes a blisteringly-funny, award-winning stand-up performance about growing up and growing down.
Looking further ahead, Joel Dommett (6 October), Jon Richardson (27 October), local favourite, Shane Todd (2 and 4 November) and Jason Byrne (5 November) are all Cool FM Comedy Club-bound… and the ever-popular Jimeoin is already confirmed for 19 October 2018!
An exclusive for football fans! Steven Gerrard: Live For The First Time (5 June) sees Steven give an insight into his life, his career and his love for Liverpool FC.
There’s music on the menu for all tastes during the new season! Timeless classics like When The Going Gets Tough The Tough Get Going and Caribbean Queen turned Billy Ocean (13 May) into a Grammy award-winning best-selling global superstar. Simple Minds (6 June) are widely regarded as one of the world’s best live bands and responsible for some of rock music's most innovative and enduring anthems. A truly unique singer-songwriter, Imelda May (27 May) has found a new groove with new music exploring blues, soul, gospel, folk, rock and acoustica.
Already sold out, The Cranberries (17 May) are one of Ireland’s most successful musical exports who shot to worldwide fame with timeless classics like Linger, Zombie and Dreams. Also sold out are highly anticipated concerts by Kraftwerk (4 June), Ryan Adams (8 September), Andy Irvine & Paul Brady (28 May), Alter Bridge (21 June) and Picture This (7 June).
Vonda Shepard (1 July) first shot to fame with her long running performances on the smash hit Ally McBeal TV show - now she’s set to play Belfast for the first time in over 10 years! Audiences will also be wowed by the return of the multi-Platinum selling G4 (10 September) and their amazing trademark harmonies!
Music fans can look forward to superlative reproductions of some of popular music’s all-time classics, courtesy of The Billy Joel Songbook performed by Elio Pace and his Band (19 June), Elvis Tribute and Gospel: Jim Brown Two Sides of The King (19 August), The Illegal Eagles (23 September) and Magic of Motown (11 May) which celebrates the music of the Supremes, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie and more. Closer to home, The Legend of Luke Kelly - Dubliner! (16 September) celebrates the music of the iconic Dubliners star.
Orchestral music fans are in for a double-treat! Without question the classical highlight of the summer, A Special Audience with Sir James Galway & the Ulster Orchestra (1 June) promises a unique evening of music magic with the flute maestro featuring popular classics, traditional favourite, The Star of the Co. Down, and many more. Looking further ahead, the renowned Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by the acclaimed Valery Gergiev is a Belfast International Arts Festival highlight on 11 October.
A trio of absorbing new theatre productions will be unveiled during the new season! Set against the background of the Easter Rising, River Tall Theatre Company’s Blood Upon the Rose (9 - 10 June) is a brilliant new musical / drama telling the tragic love story of Grace Gifford and Joseph Plunkett.
Atmospheric and timely, the Irish première of Soda Bread Theatre Company’s Borderland (3 - 5 August) strikes a balance between the myths, loyalties and destruction of Northern Ireland’s past with new hope in an uncertain future.
Pintsized Surprise (19 and 26 August) does exactly what is says on the tin: a surprise performance, from writers with thrillingly distinctive voices performed by locally based, emerging professional actors and theatre makers.
And that’s not all! Theatre goers can also now book for Three’s A Shroud (4 - 21 October), the hilarious new comedy directed by Martin Lynch.
Want to inject a little romance into a special night out? Then relive the passion and indulge in the romance of the greatest movie soundtrack of all time, courtesy of A Night of Dirty Dancing: The Ultimate Tribute Show (15 September). From Dirty Dancing to strictly Ballroom, TV dancing favourites, Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe (2 May) promise you a night to remember with newly choreographed routines of their favourite Ballroom and Latin dances.

The Waterfront box office is available on event days only, opening 2 hours before a show if you need to pay for or pick up tickets.
